Update on the Hummingbird Hut

Getting closer to a finished space.  Our building contractor finished up a few weeks ago, and we have since rebuilt the garden which they had to trench through to lay the new     electrical and internet lines to the new structure. We laid a new sandstone path, and planted lots of new plants.  We’re so excited to have a relaxing and serene outdoor space to relax in, and take a breather in between focused studio time.  We call our studio, “The Hummingbird Hut” because the garden has so many mature pollinator friendly trees and plants, and we are witness to multiple hummingbird chases every day.  
        
Last week, our cousin, Eric Rosebraugh, carpenter extraordinaire, created the very tricky built in shelves with  repurposed (literally old school) chalkboard ledges, from a high      school built in the 1950’s, and lovely vertical grained fir plywood.  These shelves are the last of the fixed assets to be     installed on the studio walls.  He also made an amazing live edge heavy duty shelf above the studio desk, where Scott is excited to put his lava lamp on.  

Now that the shelves are up, we can install the sound absorption panels and tiles. My other cousin, Kahari Bandy-Pasibe, a brilliant mind with design and geometry, started installing some of the sound absorption tiles this past weekend on the ceiling and the slanted wall behind the desk.
