Celebrating Ancestors
In the fall we take time to celebrate our ancestors, both biological and chosen. To those who came before us, who laid the foundation of our existence, and dreamed of our opportunities to come in this life – we celebrate you! Reflect upon our ancestral stories of success, failure, love and family, celebrate their lives, and embrace the lessons they have to teach us. This month we are showcasing Línda González’s memoire, “The Cost of Our Lives,” a beautiful, poignant story of families uniting across physical and emotional borders. Linda was raised by her parents in Los Angeles, her father was from México, and her mother was from Colombia. Her father’s greatest gift to her was discipline, and her mother’s gift was humor. Linda uses both to support her clients through their daily personal and societal inequities to find joy and sustenance in their lives. Check out the audio book! |
